Outline of Available Services
Student Assistance Program
-The Graduate Student Assistance Program is a free, voluntary and confidential service, provided through Union Graduate College, that offers counseling and additional support services to students.
-Students are eligible for up to four (4) sessions of short term counseling per year/per issue with a licensed professional. Examples of reasons a student might call are:
vFamily and relationship issues
vAnxiety/ Depression
vDifficulty focusing or concentrating
vStress/Anger management
vSubstance Abuse, and more…
-To ensure that students can easily access these services, we connect students with professionals located in close proximity to the school or students’ home.
-The Graduate Student Assistance Program offers the following additional services created to assist students balance the demands of school/family/work:
vCounseling & Assistance for Budget, debt, and credit issues
including:
o Money management
o Creating a budget
o Credit consolidation
o Financial health checkups
vCommunity Resource Referrals and Information regarding:
o Childcare/Camps/Schools
o Eldercare
o New Parent Coaching & Adoption Assistance
o Legal/Financial Referrals
vNew Parent Transition Program - Telephonic coaching that
provides support for expecting parents in a three part
program
o Expecting a New Baby
o Staying Home with Baby
o Balancing School/Work and Baby
vThe Wellness Work Life website offers articles, tip sheets,
videos and trainings on a wide range of subjects including:
o Drinking and Substance Issues
o Anger/Stress/Anxiety
o Study Tips
o Health and Wellness assessments, etc.
-The Graduate Student Assistance Program provides 24/7 access to telephonic support with a live clinician by dialing 1-800-326-6142. Students can also utilize this 24-hour service to obtain more information about the services available to them through the Graduate Student Assistance Program.
